Sr. Marjorie Garcia, OP, known as Sr. Joy, was born in the Philippines on November 19. She pursued her education at Notre Dame University, where she completed 2 years of Child Psychology, followed by a BSEd in Elementary Education at the University of San Agustin, and earned a Montessori Certificate from Chaminade. Sr. Joy has been teaching since 1999 and has been a professed sister for 28 years. She enjoys knitting and is currently learning to play the violin. Sr. Joy also loves to read spiritual books, history, and learn about American Indians, though she jokes not to ask her what she remembers. Her favorite color is green, the color of life.
